BEACHES

ADDYS VILLAS are just a stones throw from the headwaters of ROBERTS BAY and centrally located for EASY access to:

NOKOMIS BEACH – Casey Key and North Jetty Park—–FREE PARKING

south there is…. VENICE ISLAND and MANASOTA KEY.

just north…. SIESTA KEY,  LIDO KEY,  and LONGBOAT KEY.

The Florida Gulf coastline has miles of white sandy beaches accessible to all. The beaches are actually keys, barrier islands that are reachable by car.  CASEY KEY and VENICE ISLAND are the closest to ADDY’S VILLAS.

VENICE ISLAND includes Venice Beach, Golden Beach, Brohard Beach Paw Park and Casperson Beach.

SIESTA KEY includes Siesta Public Beach, Crescent Beach and Turtle Beach.

LONGBOAT KEY has limited public access.

THE RINGLING is Sarasota’s heritage home of the circus and museum.

NATURE

HIKING- Nature trails abound at Oscar Scherer State Park, Manatee State Park, South Lido Park, the Legacy Trail and the Venetian Waterway Trail.

GARDEN TOURS-beautiful Selby Botanical Gardens, Crawley Gardens are wonderful day visits.

BIRDING-the Venice Audubon Rookery, Celery Fields and Manatee State Park is home to many species of migrating and local birds.

SEA LIFE- see the secrets of the sea at the Mote Aquarium.

WALKING – The Legacy Trail is an old railroad line that has been converted to walking and BIKING & Eco tourism

 

 


SHOPPING

DOWNTOWN VENICE-has charming walking streets filled with boutique shops  Restaurants, outdoor fairs, art shows and farmers markets.  Newly updated and plenty FREE parking.

DEARBORN STREET-an old Florida village with small town galleries, shops and restaurants.  Fifth Avenue South Shopping

SARASOTA SQUARE MALL is a typical American mall with a good selection of national chains.

ST ARMANDS CIRCLE-fine retail shops and restaurants make this a fashionable destination during the night and day. Upscale and fashionable.

UNIVERSITY TOWN CENTER is a city of shops that pulls together major American retailers. It’s huge.

LAKEWOOD RANCH is a community shopping destination for surrounding developments.

SOUTHGATE MALL is near downtown Sarasota and Siesta Key.  It is possible to take the trolley and explore the area.
