Rent a Villa? – or Stay at a Hotel / Motel ?
When one is planning a vacation, they may be unsure of whether to book a stay at a hotel or secure one of many Florida vacation rentals. Both have different amenities, so it is strictly up to the traveler which of those amenities is more important to them.
Comparing and contrasting options can help, and ensure that the traveler and his or her party have a spectacular time. The best way to make a decision is to gather all together and see what options are in the area being visited. Take into consideration the following and it’s certain that everyone will be happy.
Depending on the size of the travel party, vacation rentals may be a better option. Often, vacation rentals should be considered if the party is big. For example, one can secure a 2 bedroom unit that sleeps six for much less than a couple rooms at a classy hotel.
This also depends on several other factors:
How long is your stay?
Is it on or off season?
Are there any promotions being offered?
A great way to find the perfect-priced option is to narrow it down to one of each, a hotel and a vacation rental that feature the same amount of beds and then consider all of the following options in the final decision.
Consider Convenience
What is the party traveling to the area to do? If sight-seeing, vacation rentals and hotels should be centrally located. Some may be right in the immediate area of attractions while other may require additional transportation. Vacation rental properties are generally at street level for easier in and out access.
What types of amenities are necessary for a great stay? Is a swimming pool necessary? In a vacation rental, there is typically a kitchen available to stock up on food for the stay. Laundry facilities are available for longer stays.
Not all vacation rentals offer turn down service and housekeeping while most hotels do.
Atmosphere
If the travel party prefers a property that’s loaded with guests then a hotel may be the better choice. Vacation rentals give the feel of home and are often much more private and quiet, of course this depends on location.
However, for a quiet getaway vacation rentals are the way to go. This can be nice if one wants to have some peace and quiet after a long day of sight-seeing. In addition, there can be great savings if one is willing to stay a bit farther from attractions. It’s certainly something to consider.
Pets and Kids
When travelling with kids and with pets, a smaller vacation rental property may offer more privacy than a motel or hotel. This aspect sometimes seals the deal for travelers as they want the entire family to feel comfortable and have a great time.
No Hidden Fees
It’s true that hotels and resorts are infamous for throwing those extra little charges into the final bill. Perhaps a child opened one of those water bottles on the night stand that were clearly labeled as for sale, or guests used pool towels every day not knowing they were extra.
At vacation rentals it’s always a solid fee for rental and everything on property is included. This can allow travellers to relax knowing everything is paid for which is a huge blessing when getting away from it all.
