Nokomis Beach Drum Circle Event

It’s a local tradition that may be the largest drum circle events of its kind on the Florida Gulf Coast.

The drum circle has been around for decades, yet each circle event is different depending on the time of year, the weather and those who come to participate and share the experience.

The drum circle takes place twice weekly on Casey Key Public Beach in Nokomis, Florida.

The drum circle starts about an hour before sundown, every Wednesday and Saturday.

Depending on the weather, the drum circle has an attendance between several hundred to several thousand people. If rain is expected the event may be held in the covered area near the restroom facilities on the North end of the parking lot.

nokomis-beach-fl-drum-circlePeople come from all over the world to enjoy the Nokomis Beach Drum Circle. It’s an experience that takes you in as the drummers pound out the beat for belly dancers in costume, hula hoopers, and colorful characters dressed in unique beachwear. Kids of all ages step out into the circle to have fun and play. It’s people watching at its best!

So come join us and bring your family and friends, the more, the merrier! All you have to do is pack a picnic, bring a blanket or beach chairs and find a place to sit around the circle. If you want to make music in the spirit of fun, bring a drum, morrocas or a tambourine. Or you may want to get up and dance or try moving to the beat while hula hooping. It feels good!!
