  • My wife and I enjoyed seeing the pelican flying overhead, shopping at the little Papas shack on the pier, watching the guys catching fish and observing the outstanding view from there.
  • So much fun to walk out on the pier. Beautiful sky line and excellent beach area. Lovely breezes. Would highly recommend walking out on the pier.
  • A great place for sunset. It’s usually a community sunset where people just show up and enjoy. We love to do that then walk down Venice avenue and pick a restaurant after.
  • Did not fish but enjoyed seeing the other fisherman. Clean as a pier can be. Large pier and has sinks to clean fish, if you decide to fish.
  • We’ve visited the pier many times over the years. Fishing is pretty good. You can also just go for a stroll and take in the views of the ocean and people.
  • fishing-on-the-venice-pierTake the time to check it out. Very nice with benches to sit on or just stand at the rail. Watch people on the beach, or watch people fish. We watched Dolphins and saw a stingray on this trip. Of course sunsets are beautiful!
  • I absolutely loved this place and my family will be back before we go back to NJ. First we parked at one of the beach entrances. A woman walked out carrying a sponge, an urchin, and some coral she had just collected. The boardwalk to the beach is gorgeous on its own, with lush foliage and smooth planks
  • Can be crowded with fishermen and guests, but a really neat place to frequent even if you are not fishing. Clean water where you can often see the fish below. Long enough that some good-sized fish are caught, and if you come up empty-handed, there is a well-known restaurant right there.
  • There is always something going on out on the pier. Probably because we’ve been told that you can fish there without a license. Sometimes the dolphins are fishing below as well. We watched a couple of guys play a tarpon for 45 min. only to lose it in the end.
  • Get some Binoculars or a fishing pole and enjoy people watching fishing and just scanning the water for wildlife…Great fun.
